Arrangement Kootje at the bridge

Kootje at the bridge is a small outdoor recreational facility located on the wymerts in a rustic setting in Friesland. Kootje at the bridge is located in the watery town Súdwest Fryslan. Centuries ago, the water in the area of Kootje at the bridge went its own way. By controlling the water of the Middelsee and by the construction of embakments, co called Hemmen arose. Also drainage canals were dug and there 'grew' lakes, where you can sail now.

Different routes run from Kootje at the bridge along the various Hemmen and thus by the ancient Middelsee Area. You can taste the typical country environment with its cultural and historical monuments and farms. You 'just' cruise an hour past several national waterways and return to the Wolsumerketting where you can enjoy a cup of tea of coffee in a friendly atmosphere in the Kootje at the bridge teagarden on the water. For example, start with a visit to the Frisian brewery, then you will be picked up in bolsward with the longboat. Then you will cruise towards IJlst for a nice trip. After arriving at Kootje you can relive the journey an the terrace after which you can go fish smoking of barbecuing.
